When I began my math teaching career, I was quite ineffective.
Part of my issue was that I was doing a lot of typical things that are done in math classes across the country that seem prudent, but yield poor results. I realized, through time and study, that some minor tweaks to some of the typical practices could have dynamic results.
Within a few years I had found great success. I was promoted many times at my school, my students’ test scores were phenomenal, and I had rediscovered my joy for teaching.
I want this for you and for your students.
I compiled a list of ten strategies that I started implementing in my classroom that gave me these great results. Each item is a small change that will create a huge difference, but it does require a mindset shift for the educator.
On the free resource below is the entire list. Each item hyperlinks to an article that will help you go deeper with each teaching strategy, and a free resource to help you implement.
