Picture This:

Your students come to class in a timely manner and begin their math work without being prompted or reminded and without incident.

How would it feel if your students enjoyed their math class with you, and looked forward to mastering the next skill – and you enjoyed your time with them? Not just because a lot was being learned, and they were growing, but because you genuinely enjoyed your time in class together.

Imagine if every student in the room was being reached at their level, and accelerating as they mastered one skill at a time until they obtained mastery of the grade level skills. What would it look like if they could see their success and you celebrated their accomplishments?

What would it be like if you reduced classroom management issues to almost none while increasing time spent practicing math concepts – using effective methods that helped students better grasp the material?

I’ve been there

I once was an ineffective math teacher. I looked at a room full of disinterested, unengaged students who had checked out. They weren’t motivated to learn, they didn’t feel successful, and they weren’t making progress. As a result, classroom management suffered, test scores were bad, parents were upset, and I was frustrated.

But as I learned many of these strategies to engage my students and reduce discipline issues I became more effective. My students’ scores were phenomenal, my classroom management excelled, and I rediscovered my joy for teaching.

I was also promoted, repeatedly, until I became an administrator.

You can have these same successes. Journey with me on this 21 Day Challenge to Be a Better Math Teacher.
